When the Lord told Israel he was taking them to a land flowing with milk and honey it wasn’t just about the natural provision.
He was releasing a prophetic declaration about the kind of culture he was creating, about the kind of people he was empowering to defeat darkness, minister to his heart and to love as his very own.
That is a promise we must go after even now.
We are not just asking for the Lord’s presence to fall on those of us who are asking and seeking and hungry. We must desire provision to flow into every area, into everyhome.
We need the presence of the Lord to come that annihilates every enemy. The overflowing presence of the Lord that provides sustenance to even those who feel unworthy and unqualified to come and receive.
In the book of Judges we see the story of two women who got to be living illustrations of the promises of God. Deborah and Jael’s names mean Honey Bee and Mountain Goat respectively, the type of creatures who produce honey and milk.
Their intertwined story of victory became a beautiful representation of what it can look like when Milk & Honey flows throughout the land and from the people of God.
