I hope this is the beginning of so much. Beauty. Joy. Laughter. Insight. Empowerment. But all Jesus. And all about being His, belonging to Him.
I shared so much about being a daughter of God in my first book Becoming His, but after releasing it I realized that I wasn’t finished. The Holy Spirit did not lead me to write that book because I had figured it all out and was an expert in what it meant to be a daughter of God.
Man, so far from it.
I believe that it was released so that I would dig deeper and continue to position myself within him. He wanted to show me what it meant for a Father to provide for his daughter. And that provision was more than I could have ever imagined. It’s not about monetary value or worldly wealth. But he is showing me more of his smile, of his tender mercies, of his loving discipline, of the sweetness of his embrace.
He is setting the course for not just an earthly but an eternal relationship that reaps lasting fruit and influence. He is positioning His Bride to release provision, signs and wonders and his glory upon the earth.
That is what I want to explore more of in this place, in books to come, in this journey of Milk & Honey Women. When we come into agreement with who we are in Him, let us determine to stay there, to keep our position, to remain, to abide, to dwell in that place which is immovable, that no demon from hell can shift us from.
We are His daughters. Let’s live like it.
When we know who we are (Identity), we know where to go. When we know where to go (Intimacy), we know what to do. When we know what to do (Influence), lives are impacted with the gospel and for God’s kingdom.
Listen. I never thought I would be writing my next book in another country let alone one called the land of fire and ice. Y’all I’m a Nigerian woman born and raised in the southern United States. Two degrees in Social Work and worked over twelve years on the pastoral staff of a large church in Huntsville, AL called The Rock Family Worship Center.
Yet here I am, surrounded by the snow covered mountains of Akureyri, Iceland. Volcanoes and waterfalls and lava rock just a short distance away. In a country where it is rare to see my culture and skin color and where my role is totally different.
We moved here to be cross cultural ministry workers, to do our best to join the efforts of others and further the kingdom of God. My husband was born in Iceland and I carried this nation in my womb through the blood of my Nigerian-Icelandic mocha drops. But I never thought I would be here. I never thought the Lord would call us to come. Transition came for me relentlessly, pulling me from comfort, the familiar, from home…to plant me in a place where I could be positioned to see his glory fall.
To see His milk and honey flow.
This is truly a season of transition for so many. I believe God is positioning his Bride for more of His presence and out of the overflow he is going to move in significant ways.
Within this blog, coming book and future dreams I would love to see all of us women cultivate our own places of Identity, Intimacy and Influence no matter the season. Sweet spots where we and others can taste and see and believe that God is good.
We must be aligned, we must be women of abiding to receive and release all that He intends for us to.
I believe there is Milk and Honey that he wants to flow through you in whatever your land of Fire and Ice may be.
Welcome to the journey sister, you have a part in this story.
